Important
Fabric Extend Integration with ExtremeCloud SD-WAN is added to the document in advance of feature support. Feature support is planned for 8.10.1.
If you have remote branch sites with only Internet connectivity and you want to extend the capabilities of fabric to that site, or if you have a branch office with a private WAN connection and you want to have a backup link using the public Internet, you can extend the Fabric network over the Internet towards a remote branch by connecting Fabric switches through ExtremeCloud SD-WAN.
Fabric Extend Integration with ExtremeCloud SD-WAN integrates the following features for SD-WAN deployments:
Automation of Fabric Extend Tunnels over IP WAN infrastructure
MTU configuration per IS-IS logical interface for Layer 3 interfaces
SD-WAN infrastructure adjusts packet size to accommodate restricted MTU paths, such as Internet by fragmenting the end user IP packets.
