Extreme Networks offers two Analytics solutions that monitor traffic on your network:

Important

Important

You can use either sFlow, or sFlow with Application Telemetry or both at the same time as they can coexist on a switch. Note that to enable Application Telemetry, you must enable sFlow first.

In both solutions, the switch collects flow information and sends it to a central server that processes the information and provides statistical data in the form of reports. Then you can use ExtremeCloud IQ - Site Engine to analyze the reports to give you a full understanding of the applications on your network and learn who is using those applications. ExtremeCloud IQ - Site Engine also provides information such as DoS tracking, security monitoring, and statistics for protocols, ports, and applications.

This section describes how Application Telemetry works and how to configure it. Because there is some commonality between the two features, this section also describes some sFlow features.

For further information about sFlow, see sFlow Fundamentals.

For more information about ExtremeCloud IQ - Site Engine, see the documentation on the Extreme Networks Documentation portal (www.extremenetworks.com/documentation/) with special attention to the Application Analytics User Guide.
