Configure Dynamic Nickname Assignment
About this task
Use this procedure to specify the nickname allocation prefix and enable Dynamic Nickname Assignment.
Note
You must disable Dynamic Nickname Assignment before you can change the nickname prefix.

Configure a nickname allocation prefix and enable Dynamic Nickname Assignment:
Switch:1>enable Switch:1#configure terminal Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z. Switch:1(config)#spbm nick-name server prefix C.30.00 Switch:1(config)#spbm nick-name server
Dynamic Nickname Assignment configuration values and their associated behavior are shown in the following output from the show spbm command:

Specifies the nickname server allocation prefix. x.xx.xx uses the form X.X0.00 from 0.00.00 to F.F0.00. A group, X.X0.00 to X.XF.FF, can provide up to 4,096 nicknames. The default nickname allocation range is A.00.00-A.0F.FF. |
