exit
The exit command works differently in
the User Exec, Priv Exec, and Global Config modes. In the Global Config mode, it ends the
current mode and moves to the previous mode, which is Priv Exec mode. The prompt changes
from (config)# to #. When used in the Priv Exec and
User Exec modes, the exit command ends the current session, and connection to the terminal
device is terminated. If the current session has changes that have not been committed, the
system will prompt you to either do a commit or a revert before terminating the
session.
